General Risk Disclosure

Medical travel, including treatment undertaken overseas, involves inherent risks. Oceanscape Group is committed to transparent, informed decision-making.

While we coordinate with licensed and accredited providers, risks may include, but are not limited to, the following.

Risks associated with medical tourism

Travel-related risks
Such as long-haul flight complications, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), travel fatigue, or delays that may affect recovery.

Cultural and language differences
While interpretation and support services are provided, differences in language, culture, or communication styles may occur.

Differences in medical protocols
Post-operative care, recovery practices and follow-up arrangements may differ from those commonly used in your home country.

Aftercare limitations
Once you return home, follow-up care and emergency support will be subject to local availability and healthcare systems.

Complications
Complications may require extended stays, revision procedures, or further treatment. These may not be covered by standard travel insurance unless specific complication insurance has been arranged.

Surgical and medical risks

All medical and surgical procedures carry individual risks, which may include:

  • complications related to anaesthesia,

  • infection or delayed wound healing,

  • scarring or unsatisfactory results,

  • blood clots or internal bleeding,

  • pain, numbness or nerve-related symptoms,

  • the need for corrective or revision procedures.

No medical procedure is without risk, and no outcome can be guaranteed.

Your responsibilities

To support your safety and outcomes, you are responsible for:

  • providing complete and accurate medical history,

  • completing all requested pre-operative tests and assessments,

  • following medical instructions before and after treatment,

  • securing appropriate travel insurance and, where applicable, complication insurance,

  • maintaining realistic expectations and understanding that outcomes vary,

  • identifying a GP or healthcare provider at home who can support post-treatment care.

Complication insurance

Where available, Oceanscape Group facilitates access to complication insurance through an authorised Turkish insurance broker.

This insurance is arranged in accordance with applicable Turkish regulations and Ministry of Health requirements.

Depending on the policy and procedure, coverage may include:

  • emergency hospitalisation,

  • medically necessary revision surgery,

  • additional medications or diagnostic testing,

  • extension or postponement of return flights for medical reasons.

Coverage varies by insurer, procedure and individual circumstances. Full policy details, including inclusions and exclusions, are provided in writing before travel.

Final note

Oceanscape Group is not a medical provider.

We facilitate connections with licensed healthcare professionals, coordinate logistics and support your medical travel journey. However, medical treatment and clinical outcomes remain the responsibility of you and your chosen healthcare provider.

We strongly encourage all clients to seek independent medical advice in their home country before proceeding with treatment overseas.
